About Us

Since childhood, I always knew I wanted to be a Veterinarian. My journey began working as a Sterile Resource Technician at a major Bay Area specialty practice. There, I honed essential vet tech skills to complement my passion for animal care while completing my transfer work for UC Davis. My experience at the specialty practice solidified my love for working with animals on a specialty level. I took great satisfaction in comforting animals that were scared, sick, or recovering from surgery.

After starting as a pet sitter in 2012, I took over Vet Tech Pet Care in 2017. At Vet Tech Pet Care, I channel my love for animals into compassionate care within the pet-sitting industry. I believe that if we are responsible for having a pet, they deserve the best life possible, and I strive to provide that every day for our clients. My furry family started with Princess Peaches, my regal canine companion, and my two feline friends, Sam and Suzie. Now in later years, Graycie Blu joined me as a delightful new companion.

Whether it’s administering medications, soothing anxious pets missing their pet parents, or giving lots of snuggles, I am dedicated to making tails wag and whiskers twitch. Since then, I’ve welcomed many new clients and grown the team with staff that shares my beliefs and dedication. I actively support animal rescues and shelters through monetary donations, advocate for spaying and neutering, pet education, and spreading the word for those in need of a loving home.

Hello! My name is Donna Rhodes. I’ve been with Vet Tech Pet Care since April 2019 and find my work exciting and rewarding. I have experience caring for a variety of animals including dogs, cats, rodents, birds, reptiles, and even pet chickens.

I also attended the Veterinary Technology Program at Carrington College, where I acquired many skills used in my current role. Can’t wait to spend time with your pets!

Working as Tomiko’s personal assistant is equally rewarding, as I gain valuable insights from her expertise while supporting her inspiring leadership.

From a young age, animals have always been my safe haven. I believe they deserve the same love and care that we do, and I am passionate about ensuring every pet feels safe, cherished, and at home—returning the joy they bring into our lives. My companion Rocky has stood by me through difficult times, and I am committed to giving him the same love and comfort in return.

Hello, my name is Kristi Branum, and I am a long-time resident of the Concord/Clayton area. Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of caring for a diverse range of pets, including fish, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, parakeets, finches, cats, horses, and a particularly special California Desert Tortoise, which required registration with the Department of Fish and Game. Additionally, I have had the pleasure of raising numerous dogs.

Prior to my tenure at Vet Tech Pet Care, I was a client. During that time, I was consistently impressed by the meticulous care and attention to detail provided by Tomiko and the entire team while we were away. I am now honored to be part of this dedicated team, committed to delivering the same high standard of care that I once received. I extend my gratitude for entrusting us with the responsibility of looking after your pets and household during your absence.

A bit more about myself: I enjoy hiking with my husband and our Labrador, Riley. You can frequently find me at Willow Pass Park, where I play pickleball several times a week. Furthermore, I have been a volunteer at Joybound (formerly Tony LaRussa’s Animal Rescue Foundation, also known as ARF) since 2012. In this role, I primarily collaborate with the Behavior Department staff, deriving great satisfaction from assisting long-term dogs in thriving and ultimately finding their forever homes.

I’m Jonathan Logan, but you can call me Johnny. I’m an enthusiastic animal lover with a heart full of passion for our furry, scaly, and feathered friends! Over the years, I’ve had the joy of caring for more than 30 dogs, 15 cats, and a delightful assortment of other animals and reptiles, including goats, snakes, spiders, hamsters, fish, tortoises, and birds. My life revolves around animals, and I’m currently diving deep into the world of Animal Nutrition and Photography.

My journey in the animal care industry has been incredibly rewarding. At Pet Food Express, I thrived as the lead manager, where I was in charge of new product information, training, and ingredient knowledge. The best part of my job was understanding each pet’s unique nutritional needs and helping them overcome dietary challenges, like allergies. My own dog, Dominic, has a myriad of allergies, which has equipped me with extensive knowledge about animal foods and treats.

Since 2024, I’ve been having a blast working with Tomiko & Vet Tech Pet Care, where I get to enjoy pet sitting and dog walking. I can’t wait to meet you and your wonderful animal family!

Hi there! My name is Kaitlin and I’ve been with Vet Tech Pet Care since February 2024. I’ve loved animals my whole life and had the privilege of growing up with cats, dogs, rats, and a budgie named Blueberry.

Having pets of my own, volunteering at animal shelters, and now working in pet care professionally has been extremely rewarding and fulfilling as I’ve been able to develop trusting and respectful relationships with the animals under my care.

Hi! I’m Sydney Jones, a new member of the Vet Tech Pet Care team. I’ve loved animals all my life and have had many wonderful pets. I’ve worked in healthcare since 2000 and decided to switch careers after using Vet Tech Pet Care for our own pets.

Impressed with their service, I wanted a part-time job as a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy providing exceptional care for others’ pets, and my medical background helps with clients who have special needs. I’m excited to be part of the best team in the Bay for animal care!

Hello, my name is Deja (Dey for short)! I’m excited to provide kind care to animals through Vet Tech Pet Care. I grew up with a cat at home and many friends with various pets such as dogs, rats, and birds! When our cat passed away due to thyroid issues, I quickly turned my grief into ambition to provide love, respect, and care to the animals who bring us so much happiness. Although I currently don’t have any pets, I love to petsit for family and friends, and now others!

Hello I’m Isaiah! I’ve been working at a dog daycare for six years, and it’s been such a rewarding experience. I’ve loved learning about animals ever since I was a kid, so being surrounded by them every day feels like a dream job. At home, I have three dogs who are my pride and joy two Huskies, Leila and Wolfie, and a Boxer Pitbull mix named Kodak. They’ve taught me so much about patience, care, and the unique personalities animals bring into our lives. Joining the team is exciting for me because I get to meet and work with all different types of animals now and I can’t wait to give them all the love and attention like they are my own.

Hi I’m Pattie and I absolutely adore what I do. I have 15 years experience working with animals and still love making connections with each and every animal to this very day. I was a volunteer for various animal rescues and charities, which I found to be such fulfilling work that it led me to create my own. My time as a kennel manager and with Vet Tech Pet Care have helped hone and refine my skills to being able to monitor and nurture a pet’s physical health and well-being as well. It is my mission in life to make the world a little softer for our animal family and friends.​

Hi, I’m Alexa! I’m currently working on my associates in veterinary technology and have plans to take the VTNE in May 2026. I love all animals, but consider kitties my specialty.

After 10 years of cat sitting in the North Bay, I moved with my family to the East Bay to further my education and skill set.
